The registration stock across the federation follows a directive from the NDE management, led by the chief executive, Malam Nuhu Fikpo.

NDE coordinator in Bayelsa, Mr. Aham Osuchukwu told Yenagoa reporters on Thursday that the registration was for all unemployed people in Bayelsa regardless of their state of origin.

He said the NDE is focusing on tackling unemployment through its various trainings on skills acquisition, loan disbursement and other interventions.

“NDE is aimed at all sections of society, from the uneducated to the educated.

“What they have in common is unemployment. The uneducated can be made to learn skills and become artisans in selected areas of expertise,” he said.

Osuchukwu added that registration was free, pointing out that the national identification number was a prerequisite for the process.

He said other information required were personal details such as age, neighborhood, local government area, degrees and email or residential address.

He also said that one of the main mandates of the NDE was to provide and maintain a database of employment and vacancies in order to act as a clearinghouse to connect job seekers. employment with employers.

He implored all unemployed people in Bayelsa to ensure they attend the drill from April 17 to May 5 to ensure their details are registered in the NDE database.

Osuchukwu stressed that registration would ensure proper planning of interventions and other options.
